Neuron 02 Edge: lively attacking play without taxing your arm

PadelGuru score: 7.7/10

PadelGuru analysis

Verdict

The Bullpadel Neuron 02 Edge 2027, Federico Chingotto’s racket, is our recommendation for intermediate-to-advanced players who want to dictate at the net and finish points overhead without fighting the inertia of a head-heavy balance. This geometric racket releases the ball with plenty of zip on fast swings and gives you a very generous sweet spot, though its 365 to 375 g weight demands good footwork and positioning when defending.

It lets you play an aggressive game from start to finish without punishing your shoulder, provided you have the arm to follow through when the pace slows down.

Best for
Intermediate-to-advanced players who prioritize attacking play and aggressive volleys without a head-heavy balance.
Not for
Players looking for a very light racket or expecting free depth on slow balls with a compact swing.

Strengths

  • High ball speed when striking firmly on the attack
  • Very large sweet spot set high on the face
  • Forgiving maneuverability that doesn't overload your arm overhead
  • Quicker to get in position than the Xplo on block volleys and fast exchanges

Weaknesses

  • Crisp, dry feel at low speeds that forces a longer follow-through
  • Requires more push from the back of the court than a Vertex
  • Less raw punch on the smash than a head-heavy racket

01 Back of the court: asks for a full swing on slow balls

From the baseline it feels well balanced and won’t hold you back in tight defensive spots, even if it isn’t the lightest racket to get around when digging out low balls. Pairing the HardEVA core with the X-Tend Carbon 3K face and a 3D textured finish produces a medium feel with a slightly dry response at low speeds: when the rally slows down, you have to push through the ball more than you would with a Bullpadel Vertex and complete your follow-through to get depth across the court.

As soon as the pace picks up, the response changes completely. Its high ball exit kicks in when you swing with conviction, outperforming drier models like the Hack in reactivity and sending flat, penetrating shots on off-the-wall attacks.

02 Volley: solid on the block and quick in rapid exchanges

At the net it makes the most of its medium 260 mm balance, keeping inertia in check during reflex battles and letting you get the face in position more easily than a Bullpadel Xplo against body shots. The sweet spot sits high on the face, right between the two side vertices of the frame, forgiving off-center contact when blocking off the short bounce.

When it is time to step in on the first volley, it takes less effort to generate pace and depth, striking a well-judged balance between aggression and control.

03 Overhead play: consistent viboras and extra pop on the smash

Up top it lets you keep up an aggressive tempo well into the third set without wearing out your arm. On the bandeja and the vibora, timing the ball feels more natural than with a traditional diamond-shaped racket, making it easier to prep quickly when your opponent hits a fast, low lob.

On the smash it lacks the tip-heavy momentum of head-heavy rackets, but it makes up for it with extra lively pop at high swing speeds and an elevated sweet spot that helps you catch the ball at full reach.

04 What changes compared to the 2026 version

Compared to last year’s edition, it keeps a very similar overall stiffness while taking the edge off that dry feel at impact. That tweak translates into a slightly livelier response that helps generate ball speed on the vibora and adds a touch more reactivity when you go for a full-power smash.

Frequently asked questions

What racket does Federico Chingotto use?
Federico Chingotto plays with the Neuron 02 Edge, a medium-balance attacking racket built for pressuring opponents at the net and overhead with fast handling.
Is the Neuron 02 Edge a stiff or soft racket?
It has a medium stiffness—a touch more forgiving than the Xplo and livelier off the face than the Hack. On slow shots it feels firm and crisp, but the ball jumps off the face easily as soon as you accelerate your swing.
How does the Neuron 02 Edge compare to the Bullpadel Xplo?
The Neuron 02 Edge offers a slightly larger sweet spot and handles more quickly both in defense and in fast volley exchanges, along with a marginally less rigid feel at impact.
How does the Neuron 02 Edge perform on the smash?
The ball comes off the face very quickly on fast swings, and the high sweet spot makes it easy to connect at full extension without tiring your shoulder, though it delivers less raw power than a head-heavy racket.
