Verdict
The Bullpadel Neuron 02 2026 is a control racket for advanced players who would rather place the ball than smash it to pieces. It moves very easily and stays precise when the rallies speed up. It’s also the racket Federico Chingotto plays with.
The trade-off shows up on high balls. It gives you very little free power, so your smash is only as good as your arm. We recommend it to players who build points from the back of the court and finish them with accurate viboras. If you want to put every high ball out of the court, look at something else.
- Best for
- Advanced counter-punchers who build points with precision and do a lot of defending from the baseline.
- Not for
- Players who want easy smash power to finish points from above without much effort.
Strengths
- Very quick to move, even when you're defending off the back glass
- Places the ball accurately even in fast exchanges
- Block volleys at the net don't fly off the face
- Lets you speed up the vibora without losing direction
Weaknesses
- The flat smash needs more racket-head speed than with the Neuron 02 Edge
- Medium ball exit: you have to follow through on defensive shots
01 Baseline: control when the rally speeds up
The back of the court is where it shines most. The hybrid shape, close to a teardrop racket, and the medium 255 mm balance let you get to balls coming off the back glass without strain. That buys you time to choose your shot instead of just getting it back. When the exchange gets faster, the ball still goes where you aim it, so you can add pace without it running away into the wall.
Ball exit is medium. The MultiEVA core and X-Tend Carbon 3K face won’t launch the ball on their own, but they don’t kill it either, so when you’re defending you need to follow through on the shot.
02 Volley: blocks that land where you want
At the net the Neuron 02 suits players who block and place the ball. On block volleys the ball barely springs off the face, so you stay in control of where it lands, and the easy handling gets you there in time during quick exchanges. It weighs between 365 and 375 g, but thanks to the medium balance you don’t feel that weight when you react.
03 Overheads: a sharp vibora, a hard-earned smash
The vibora is its best overhead shot. You can swing through with confidence because the ball holds its line.
The flat smash is a different story. Compared with the Neuron 02 Edge, you have to generate a lot more racket-head speed to make the ball hurt, which makes sense for a racket with little power of its own. On an x3 smash, all the force has to come from you.
04 Neuron 02 or Neuron 02 Edge: control vs punch
In the 2026 range, choosing between the two comes down to how you finish points. The Neuron 02 is the control and maneuverability option. The Edge asks for less effort when you want to smash.
We think it’s best for advanced players who counter-attack, can wait for the right ball and win points through placement. If your game depends on hitting big smashes, the Edge will suit you better.
Frequently asked questions
- What racket does Federico Chingotto use?
- Federico Chingotto plays with Bullpadel's Neuron 02. It's a hybrid racket built for control, with very fast handling and accurate blocks at the net.
- Is the Neuron 02 stiff or soft?
- It sits in the middle, leaning slightly soft. It isn't a stiff racket, and it's designed more for control than for hitting hard.
- How different is the Neuron 02 from the previous Neuron?
- Barely at all. It follows very much the same line as last season's Neuron, which was also a control racket, so if you're coming from that one you'll feel at home almost right away.
- Is the Neuron 02 good for smashing?
- It's better on the vibora than on the flat smash. A fast vibora still lands where you aim it, but a hard smash only becomes a weapon if you supply the power yourself.
