Verdict
The Bullpadel Vertex 05 Geo 2026, Pablo Cardona’s racket, is built for advanced attacking players who still want to control the point but need some extra speed when the rallies heat up. Next to the standard Vertex 05, it sends the ball off faster on volleys, the bandeja and the smash. The trade-off is slightly less maneuverability and a smaller margin for error at the net and overhead.
Our verdict: this is a balanced racket that leans towards attack, and the faster the match, the better it plays.
- Best for
- Advanced attacking players who want control plus extra speed on volleys, the bandeja and the smash.
- Not for
- Players who defend a lot at a slow pace and need the ball to fly off the face without a full swing.
Strengths
- Comfortable, accurate bandeja that doesn't strain the arm
- Deeper, faster volleys than the Vertex 05
- More powerful smash than its sibling, including spin smashes
- Moves quickly at the back of the court despite its weight
Weaknesses
- The sandy finish doesn't cover the central logo, and that spot is slippery
- Little ball exit when the pace drops
- An over-accelerated vibora tends to sail into the back glass
01 Baseline: swing and the ball goes
From the back of the court, the Vertex 05 Geo rewards players who hit through the ball, not those who just get the racket in the way. At a slow pace the ball won’t come off on its own, so you have to follow through to give it depth. Once you load up the arm, though, ball exit is good.
It weighs 365 to 375 g with a medium balance (260 mm). You feel some weight in the head, never too much, and it moves quickly in baseline exchanges. Even so, the standard Vertex 05 is a touch easier to handle from the back.
02 Volleys: depth when you're on top of the ball
At the net it’s clearly more aggressive than the Vertex 05. Follow through on the volley and the ball travels deep and fast without any loss of control. On a comfortable ball, that extra pace turns a transition volley into one that hurts.
Under pressure, it’s a different story. Because the Geo is more reactive, taking pace off the ball is a little harder. In those moments, the duller feel of the Vertex 05 gives you a margin this racket doesn’t always offer.
03 Overheads: the bandeja is its best shot
Above the head is where it shines most. The bandeja feels comfortable, generates speed effortlessly and lets you place the ball precisely. The vibora picks up speed very easily, but overdo the acceleration and the ball tends to go long and end up in the back glass, so keep the swing measured.
On the smash we rate it above the Vertex 05: it’s more reactive and more powerful, especially at a fast pace, when the racket gives you that bit of extra help. Spin smashes such as the rulo come off quickly and very effectively. Flat smashes hit hard, although there’s a slight sensation of the ball sinking into the face before it leaves.
04 Firm feel, with one gap in the grit
The MultiEVA core and X-Tend Carbon 3K face give it a medium feel that’s a little firmer than the Vertex 05. That’s where the liveliness on fast shots comes from.
The sandy finish has one specific flaw: it doesn’t cover the Bullpadel logo, which stays smooth and glossy in the middle of the face. On slow-paced shots, when the ball runs across that area, you lose grip.
05 Geo or Vertex 05: it's about how you win points
To choose between this racket and the standard Vertex 05, think about where you win your points. If you come to the net and finish with the bandeja and the smash, the Geo gives you more speed on exactly those shots. If your game is about holding firm from the baseline and soaking up difficult balls, the Vertex 05 handles better and will be easier to master.
Frequently asked questions
- What racket does Pablo Cardona use?
- Pablo Cardona plays with Bullpadel's Vertex 05 Geo. It has a geometric shape with an attacking bias, and the bandeja is the shot it does best.
- What's the difference between the Vertex 05 Geo and the Vertex 05?
- The Geo is stiffer and livelier, so it adds speed on volleys, viboras and smashes in fast rallies. The Vertex 05 is a bit nimbler at the baseline and easier to keep in check when you're stretched or under pressure.
- Is the Vertex 05 Geo stiff or soft?
- It sits in the middle, though it's slightly firmer than the Vertex 05. You notice that firmness most on quick shots, where the ball comes off with more life.
- What's wrong with the textured face on the Vertex 05 Geo?
- The sandy grit stops short of the central logo, leaving it smooth. Slow shots that land there get less bite on the ball.
- Is the Vertex 05 Geo a power or a control racket?
- It's a control racket with an offensive edge. It isn't a pure power racket, but on the smash and at high pace it hits harder than its balanced profile suggests.
